SPOILER ALERT!!!
I first discovered Emily Giffin a few years ago when her book All We Ever Wanted came out and I fell in love. You know how you just read a book and you’re instantly drawn to an author? This was the deal…it just happened. However, in the last few years, there have been so many great books published that I have neglected the other books of hers and never made it to read them yet, but I will…oh yes, I will!
Fast forward to a few months ago when this beauty was published. I was so excited for its release, I could hardly stand it. My friend scooped his one up before I did, and we typically share books, so she read it and fast-tracked it to me! Thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long before I could read it because it rocked! It only took me a few days to get through this one (give me a break…it’s been a tough week!). And the irony of it is that I finished it on 9/11, which is when the majority of this book is centered around.
So you came here for a review…heads up…spoilers…but here it is! I really like this one. I liked AWEW better, but this was still a great read! I only gave it 4 starts because I felt like the “Matthew and Cecile” ending was a little lacking. I wanted a little more. While I liked how it ended, I had invested interest in Grant throughout the book, only to be let down, but then had to hurriedly pick back up and like him again, which I was never fully able to do! Should you read it? ABSOLUTELY!!! Grab this baby if you see it on a shelf and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
