The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo review

By Taylor Jenkins Reid

Synopsis:

Evelyn Hugo, well-known and beloved actress, is aging and ready to give a tell-all story. She chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, though no one knows why.

Monique joins Evelyn at her Manhattan apartment and spends days on end collecting information for this tell-all book that Evelyn wants her to write about her life, only to find out that there is a SIGNIFICANT secret that Evelyn is keeping from her…the real reason it was her that was chosen to write the story, and the real reason behind why!

My Thoughts:

I must say that Evelyn Hugo is a character that you love to hate. You want to love her, but she gives you every reason not to. She goes against every ounce of grain that you typically think of and is unashamed for the way she treats others to get what she wants, even coming down to the very end and asking Monique to write her story.

While complex, this story kept me piqued and invested up until the very end! I absolutely loved this book and gave it a solid 5 stars!
